NHTSA Rule Change Allows Use of eMV-50 For ALL Transfers
REMINDER : NHTSA Rule Change Allows Use of eMV-50 For ALL Transfers
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) recently published a rule change that allows you to use eMV-50s for all transfers – including vehicle sales to out-of-state buyers. That means, you can now transfer vehicles to wholesale dealers/auctions using a VERIFI eMV-50.
You should use eMV-50s for all transfers.
DMV has published announcements to the American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators and each state Motor Vehicle Commissioner advising them to expect registration and title applications for vehicles coming from New York to contain eMV-50s as the final transfer document.
Failure to accurately complete the eMV-50 may result in the registration and title application being rejected by the other jurisdiction.
